Why Threads is NOT the Salvation for Web3 and NFT (yet)

Right now, most of the Web3 community is divided between two different apps, since the release of the Twitter clone, Threads, created by the lizard man known as Zuck. So now there's a new social media inside the Meta ecosystem.

But why is that such a big deal? Well, Zuck waited for the perfect moment to release the application: Right when Elon Musk tweeted the following statement.

Elon Musk's Tweet: To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we've applied the following temporary limits: -Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day...

Twitter users were mad that they were going to be forced to touch grass, so Zuckerberg came up with the solution: Threads, a social media that works exactly like Twitter but with fewer features. No Dm's, no spaces, no hashtags.

The success wasn't caused because of the quality of the app, but because people were mad at Twitter.

But what is going to happen with the Web3 community? The NFT stans? The crypto nerds?

Most of them have created an account on Threads, and are experimenting with how the algorithm works. Small NFT groups are forming but with no actual content or meaningful project inside the platform. Every single person using Threads right now is just trying to farm followers, to feed their own ego. People engage in aimless conversations, repeating the same threads over and over again, about how the platform is great, how everyone should support each other, and how everyone should follow everyone, even with no content.

People say that Threads is better than Twitter because it has no bots. But bare with me, what's the difference between bots and Threaders? They just keep spamming GM, trying to find new accounts to trade follows, and posting threads copied from chat GPT. Is an empty and sad social media.

It also has no DM's to the general community at the moment, so having meaningful conversations or a nice experience on the platform is impossible. All you will find is a pit of fake positiveness and a general urge to get followers very, very fast.

For now, I think Twitter is still the best app for the Web3 and NFT communities. It has way more features and actual content running through the posts.

Maybe when Threads implements new features and people stop acting like narcissistic bots, it can be one of the best and most influential platforms.

For now, follow me on threads too. www.threads.net/@stoots_
